New DAC Chair Appointed
Following consultation with the Chancellor, Church Buildings Council, and the Bishop’s Council, Bishop Martin has appointed the Revd Paul Doick as Chair of the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC).
Paul is currently the Rector of Henfield, with Shermanbury and Woodmancote, and is also Rural Dean of Hurst.
In his current and previous roles, Paul has gained valuable experience of chairing meetings, looking after listed church buildings, and leading major projects. He also has an excellent grasp of the legislation relating to the care of church buildings and churchyards.
Paul says, “I am very excited to be offered the role of Chair of the DAC. Our church buildings are such an important expression of our faith in Jesus, and so caring for them in ways that honour the past, but also make them fit for worship and mission today is so important. I’m very much looking forward to working with parishes and DAC colleagues to support our Churches in doing just that, caring for our precious buildings for the future, and for the glory of God.”
