The Archdeacon of Chichester has recorded a message of enormous thanks and encouragement to the Church of England schools across the Diocese both to thank them for all they have been doing during the lockdown and as many of them prepare to welcome pupils back to school.

Luke Irvine-Capel, who is Chair of the Diocesan Board of Education and of the Diocese of Chichester Academy Trust, addresses headteachers, teachers and all those working in church schools across east and West Sussex in the video offering thanks on behalf of the Diocese.

He pays tribute to the work done during the lockdown not only in the support of children who continued to attend Schools but also for the provision of work and activities supporting home schooling.

The Archdeacon refers to an overall spirit of generosity which, he says, has undergirded the work that has been done and which continues to be exhibited.

“A lot of work is going on to welcome children back in safe and appropriate ways” he says in the film which you can view in its entirety here
