The Bishop of Chichester has appointed The Revd David Hill, Rector of St John the Evangelist Upper St Leonards, as the new Rural Dean of Hastings.

Fr David has been the Assistant Rural Dean for some time and has enjoyed very much working with his predecessor the Reverend Rachel Creighton.

The Archdeacon of Hastings Edward Dowler, thanked The Revd Rachel Creighton for her work as Rural Dean over the past two years. He said: “Rachel was given this task very soon after her arrival in the diocese and has fulfilled it with distinction and care for all our parishes.

“David is taking on this role in addition to his parish role and his duties as the Hon Chaplain of various organisations including the Hastings Veteran’s Association and St Michael’s Hospice.'

“Please may we keep David, and everyone in the Hastings Deanery, in our prayers.”

David was commissioned on 15th July 2020 and the appointment began on 22nd July 2020 for a period of 5 years.
