Parish Angels hit the big time
The youth worker in the Parish of Clayton with Keymer, Gary Pickett, has delighted his local community and featured the parish on national TV by spreading the joy of Christmas in the form of knitted angels.
Gary and a small team from the parish were tasked with placing hundreds of knitted angles at locations in the village to allow the angels to begin their secret mission to spread joy to all the children and young people in the community throughout Advent and Christmas.
The vicar of the parish Church, Alex Baxter said: “We wish to thank everyone who has made angels for our angel booming in the village. One even got on a train and went to London and has been on the Loraine Show and also Loose Women.
“We’ve had so much positive feedback, comments and posts on our Facebook page and on Hassocks uncovered Facebook page.
I am so pleased how well this has gone in the village. I’d like to thank everyone who took part in the knitting. It would be great to get even more angels next year. so why not start knitting already for Christmas 2021!”
Clayton and Keymer parish is located in Hurst Deanery, in-between Ditchling and Hassocks in West Sussex and is in the Archdeaconry of Horsham
