New rural dean announced
The Bishop of Chichester has appointed the Revd James Hollingsworth, Vicar of Sutton with Seaford, to be the new Rural Dean for Lewes and Seaford.
Judith Egar has been Rural Dean for Lewes and Seaford since 2017. The Archdeacon of Brighton and Lewes, Martin Lloyd Williams, said: “We are very thankful for Judith who filled this role with distinction and care.
“James has been the Assistant Rural Dean of Lewes and Seaford since 2016 and was licensed as vicar of Sutton with Seaford in September last year. He is taking on this new role in addition to his parish duties.
“Please may we keep James and Judith and everyone in the Deanery, in our prayers.”
Date and timing for the licensing will be announced in due course.
