Tough times for local media
The pandemic has been a mixed blessing for local media across the Diocese.
Income has been badly hit as advertising budgets of advertisers have been cut.
But, at the same time, more people in our communities have turned to local newspapers and radio for updates and information as the Covid-19 virus forced us into lockdown.
Now, as we emerge with fresh hope there is news of a return of a much missed local title - The Brighton Indy - which relaunched at the weekend.
The Bishop of Chichester, Dr Martin Warner, said at the weekend that he was delighted to see the title back serving the people of Brighton and Hove.
Gary Shipton, Editorial Director of jpi media, which publishes local titles across the Diocese, told Rob Marshall why he was happy to see the Indy back in newsagents.
