The new Archdeacon of Horsham
The Revd Angela Martin, Vicar of Forest Row, was installed as the new Archdeacon of Horsham by the Bishop at Evensong at Chichester Cathedral on Sunday 4 July.
Angela had been acting Archdeacon and she said last week that she was delighted to be asked to serve the church in this way, She was appointed following the retirement of The Ven Fiona Windsor. She will continue with her role in the parish alongside her new duties as archdeacon.
Bishop Martin said he was delighted that Angela Martin accepted his invitation. She has been one of the acting archdeacons of Horsham since 1 March 2021.
For the time being Angela will be responsible for the deaneries of Cuckfield, East Grinstead, Horsham and Hurst, while a pastoral reorganisation is considered.
During the same service, the Bishop also welcomed three new Canons of Chichester Cathedral as announced previously:
The Revd Rob Dillingham to take the Stall of the Prebendary of Firle.
The Revd Canon Stephen Ferns (who is stepping down as Canon Treasurer) to take the Stall of the Prebendary of Selsey.
The Revd Derek Welsman to take the Stall of the Prebendary of Middleton.
