New Deputy Lieutenant welcomed
The Revd Canon Judith Egar has been appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex.
The Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex, Mr Andrew Blackman appointed The Revd Canon Judith Egar DL as a Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex.
He also appointed Gus Christie DL of Glyndebourne and Giles York QPM DL the former Chief Constable.
Deputy Lieutenants come from all walks of life and all parts of the County and are honoured for their contribution to the Nation and/or the County. There are currently 32 in Sussex. They act as the eyes and ears of the Lieutenancy in our local communities and liaise closely with the local authorities. You can read more about the role of Deputy Lieutenants here
