Racial Justice Week
Bishop Will is encouraging individuals to act against racism of any kind, pray and continue to promote love for one another during Racial Justice Week. February 7-13th 2022.
As households of faith across the diocese, Bishop Will is encouraging us to reflect on Racial Justice. He is asking us to consider how we can encourage every individual to act against racism of any kind, pray and continue to promote love for one another.
“Repentance requires more than apology,” declared the Church of England's anti-racism taskforce’s in their report, From Lament to Action. “Decades of inaction carry consequences, and this inaction must be owned by the whole Church. A failure to act now will be seen as another indication, potentially a last straw for many, that the Church is not serious about racial sin.”
On the lead up to the Racial Justice Sunday (13 February 2022) Bishop Will is encouraging parishes to start thinking about how they reflect and act on eradicating racism. If you plan on focusing on Racial Justice Sunday please focus on “what action you will be considering as a parish” and share pictures or Information to encourage others.
