Archbishop of Canterbury records a message to the Diocese
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has recorded a message to the Diocese of Chichester ahead of his official visit in March.
In his message ahead of his visit on 4-6 March the Archbishop encourages every priest, deacon and member of the body of Christ to participate in his mission visit.
The Archbishop will meet community volunteers and business leaders, students, and young people across the Diocese.
There will be several events where members of the public will be welcome to come and meet the Archbishop and discuss questions of faith with him.
Bishop Martin welcomed news of the visit: “The Archbishop will travel to a diversity of parishes, schools and chaplaincies right across the Diocese. It will have a particularly evangelistic flavour encouraging us in apostolic life,” said the Bishop.
He stressed that as well as the physical visits to the places there would be opportunities online for clergy and others to meet with Archbishop Justin whilst he is in the Diocese.
A group has been set up to oversee the organisation of the visit and they are working closely with Lambeth Palace to ensure that the visit runs smoothly.
There will be regular updates about the visit via this website and in each edition of the e-News which is published every other week leading up to the visit.
Two webinars took place as an opportunity for clergy to find out more about the visit. A recording of the webinar can be found here.
