FSW supporter, Peter Gayler, raised over £3500 for the charity having visited all 43 Anglican Cathedrals.

His pilgrimage was prompted when he was about to celebrate his 70th birthday this year. Peter wanted to do something memorable to mark the occasion, as well as raise money for a charity he has supported for a long time.

He said: “I have worshipped in several cathedrals over the years, but there are many that I have never visited, and I very much want this to be a pilgrimage. I joined in all-age worship on a Sunday morning, early morning Holy Communion and choral Evensong.

I’ve enjoyed the worship, the history, the amazing cathedral buildings, and meeting people as I travelled around. I hope to have raised the focus and funds for FSW which will pay for 2 weeks of intensive support for 25 families who are struggling to cope and have no other source of help.

The cathedral pilgrimage concluded with a visit to Choral Evensong at Chichester Cathedral, where many of his friends and family gathered for the service and a brief reception afterwards with the Cathedral Precentor, Canon Dr Dan Inman.

You can read all about Peter's travels on his JustGiving page here, and if you would like to donate to show your support for his achievement, FSW would be delighted.
