Living in Love and Faith - recent bishops' meeting
For the first time, under historic plans outlined after a meeting of the Bishops of the Church of England, same-sex couples will be able to come to church to give thanks for their relationship and to seek God’s blessing.
"The Bishops of the Church of England will also be issuing an apology for the “rejection, exclusion and hostility” that LGBTQI+ people have experienced in church life.
"The Church of England will continue to celebrate the gift of Holy Matrimony as it always has done and to affirm the contribution this also makes to the flourishing of human life and society.
"The Bishops of Chichester, Horsham and Lewes welcome the Church of England's commitment to a “radical new Christian inclusion founded in scripture, in reason, in tradition, in theology and the Christian faith as the Church of England has received it" and to working out the implications of this for our life and ministry in the 21st century."
