Cathedral hosts demo for sustainable floral design
As part of the Church of England’s target to be net zero by 2030, Chichester Cathedral is committed to delivering the next Festival of Flowers 2024 without using floral foam.
In preparation for its Festival of Flowers 2024, the cathedral has explored and invested in alternative methods of arranging flowers, which are more sustainable.
As part of this commitment a demonstration was recently held in the Cathedral Nave, by Hannah Howell, Designer of the 2024 Festival. The event was enjoyed by over 100 flower arrangers from churches throughout the Diocese who were shown alternative methods of arranging flowers using chicken wire and sustainable alternatives to floral foam.
