The Bishop has now arrived in Rome
The Bishop has now arrived in Rome in preparation for the Synod of Bishops which takes place between October 4-29.
Representing the Church of England as one of a number of ecumenical delegates, Bishop Martin will join episcopal delegates from all over the world as well as lay people and other ecumenical representatives.
The Bishop is attending because, until last year, he was a member of the Church of England Council for Christian Unity.
The key three themes of the Synod areCommunion, Participation & Mission.
The Bishop is currently joining in the pre-Synod retreat.
"Please pray for all involved in the Synod and that its work might be fruitful for the whole Church of Jesus Christ," said + Martin before he departed for Italy.
It is a great honour of course for the Diocese for the Bishop to be representing the wider Church of England at this event.
