Diocese of Chichester - Announcement
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of the Reverend Annette Hawkins, Vicar of Salehurst, Hurst Green, and Robertsbridge.
Annette, who also served as one of the two designated Disability Officers in the Diocese of Chichester, died on Tuesday this week, following complications during surgery. She leaves behind her beloved husband John, four adult children, and six grandchildren.
We extend our deepest condolences to Annette's family and assure them, the entire parish, and her colleagues of our ongoing prayers and support during this difficult time.
Bishop Will Hazlewood said: "Our prayers and love are with John, their family, friends, and the church communities that Annette served with such dedication. May our Lord welcome Annette home with the words, 'Come, inherit all that I have prepared for you,' and may that same God who wept at the grave of his friend comfort them in their grief."
This Sunday's service ( 17th November) at St Mary's Salehurst will be led by Bishop Will at 11am.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
