Dear sisters and brothers,
I am delighted to have been appointed as the interim Bishops’ Chaplain for Retired Ministry in the diocese in succession to Jonathan Pritchard. I look forward to building on the fantastic work Jonathan has done over the years in seeking to support clergy and their spouses, widows and widowers and also those who are approaching retirement.
My appointment is initially for 6 months to give the opportunity to find out more about how best the diocese can support and value clergy and their families in retirement. So I am very keen to hear from clergy and partners and wherever possible to meet up with them, so please do not hesitate to call me or email me. I look forward to getting to know as many as I can over the coming weeks.
Best wishes
Simon Hobbs
