    Assistant Children, Youth & Family Missioner for Seaford Parish Church

    Salary: £28,200 per annum
    Working hours: Full time (38 hours per week) – 3 Year Fixed Term Contract

    The Parish of Sutton with Seaford is seeking to recruit an Assistant Children, Youth and Family Missioner to work in close collaboration with the Children, Youth and Family Missioner, supporting families, children and young people in growing with God.

    This is a new, exciting, challenging and rewarding role which involves working across the two churches in the parish. The successful candidate will help to deliver our children, youth and family strategic vision which brings families and young people into a relationship with God and connects them with the parish.
    To successfully fulfil this role, you should have experience of working with all ages in developing and nurturing faith within the community. You should have a good knowledge of the Bible and theology, be experienced in delivering pastoral care and be confident to solely lead children’s church including Sunday School and Messy Church. There are training opportunities for the successful applicant to further develop skills in working with children of all ages from young children to teenagers.

    You should be enthusiastic and able to use your own initiative, work flexibly and communicate easily with all walks of life. You will work with and support the current church groups so that they continue to thrive. You will also identify and develop new faith groups to encourage more children, young people, and families to explore and develop their relationship with God.
    The role requires excellent communication skills to enable you to work closely with the Church leadership team and volunteers, as well as building close relationships with local schools and other community organisations. The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of safeguarding together with good IT and administrative skills. A qualification in children’s work and/or youth ministry and mission is desirable but not essential, as is experience of working with volunteers in this line of work.

    Due to the nature of the role a full, clean UK driving licence is essential as is the ability to work some evenings and weekends.
    Appointment is subject to satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

    A Genuine Occupational Requirement exists for the post-holder to be a Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
