    Church and Community-Based Youth and Children's Worker for Holy Trinity, Cuckfield

    Reports To: Vicar, Holy Trinity Cuckfield
    Position: Full Time (40 hours/week, including evenings and weekends)
    Salary: £26,000 per annum
    Term: 2 years fixed, with potential for extension (subject to funding)

    About the Role

    We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth and Children's Worker to engage with children, young people, and families across the parishes of Cuckfield, Ansty, and Bolney. This role combines community outreach and youth and children’s ministry, focusing on spiritual growth, community involvement, and youth development.

    Key Responsibilities

    Community-Based (1 day/week):

    • Set up and manage a weekly youth café and holiday activities.
    • Build relationships with local schools and youth organisations.
    • Promote community cohesion and good citizenship.
    • Seek funding for future activities in collaboration with local partners.

    Church-Based (4 days/week):

    • Provide spiritual support and lead engaging programs for children and families.
    • Organise and lead age-appropriate worship services at both Cuckfield and Bolney.
    • Lead collective worship in Cuckfield and Bolney schools.
    • Strengthen links with local schools and the wider community.
    • Recruit and manage volunteers for youth and family ministries.

    Cross-Role:

    • Promote activities through social media and other channels.
    • Develop creative promotional materials and evaluate program success.
    • Seek out and apply for additional Youth and Children's work funding
    • Work closely with other members of the leadership team.

    Ideal Candidate

    • Experience working with youth, children, or families in a community or church setting.
    • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and leadership skills.
    • A practising Christian with a passion for supporting spiritual and personal growth in young people.
    • Knowledge of safeguarding practices.

    Requirements: Valid driver's licence, willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends. Willingness to undertake training where necessary. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
