    The Bishop of Chichester is looking for a strategic pastor to lead Moulsecoomb with Bevendean and Coldean into a period of new life in partnership with St Peter’s Brighton.

    The rector will be:

    • At home in an estate parish of just over 15,000
    • Able to build ministry teams
    • Able to pioneer new approaches to outreach
    • Comfortable with sacramental and evangelical traditions
    • A good manager of change
    • Passionate about deprived areas
    • Deeply secure in their own faith and life of prayer
    • Comfortable working in an SDF-funded partnership with St Peter’s, Brighton
    • Happy to be a visible presence in the community
    • Sensitive and faithful to existing traditions

    About the benefice:

    • The benefice is comprised of two parishes, Moulsecoomb and Bevendean, and the parish of Coldean which is served by a team vicar.
    • The University of Sussex and the University of Brighton are in the parish and many students live here.
    • It ranks 530 out of 12,599 in the list of most deprived in the country.
    • The main morning service is currently in the sacramental tradition with an alternative service in the afternoon.
